About Lazercatz 2000
Formed in early 2013, Lazercatz 2000 are an improvising group from Melbourne, featuring young musicians Felix Watson, Jimmy Bowman, Maria Moles, Lena Douglas and Darvid Thor. Influenced by a variety of musicians including the likes of Kenny Wheeler and Andrea Keller, they incorporate both contemporary jazz and pop elements into their music. Lazercatz have performed throughout Melbourne, most notably at the 2013 Wangaratta Jazz Festival. In the summer of 2013, Lazercatz recorded their debut album, which will be released in May 2014.
