
László Lajtha (1892-1963) was one of the greatest Hungarian composers in the 1st half of the 20th century besides Bartók and Kodály. In addition, he was a dedicated ethnomusicologist, music pedagogist, pianist and conductor. He was also active and productive in a variety of areas such as church music, history of musical instruments, or international cultural diplomacy.
