Reggae singer Larry Marshall recorded (in 1970) with The Freedom Singers, which was the catch-all name for an ad-hoc group of artists put together in the studio by Clement Dodd. They notably recorded a version of 'Monkey Man', written by Toots Hibbert and previously recorded by The Maytals. The version by Marshall and The Freedom Singers was never released on single, but appeared on the 'Reggaematic Sounds' compilation LP and, many decades later, on - for example - the 'Rocksteady Got Soul' compilation album on Soul Jazz Records.
