About Lambert Pietkin

Lambert Pietkin (born June 22, 1613 in Liège ; died September 16, 1696 there) was a Baroque composer and organist working in the Diocese of Liège. Trained at the Lambertus Cathedral in Liège , he took over the "small organ" there in 1630, two years later he became organist on the main organ. In 1633 he temporarily replaced his godfather and teacher Léonard de Hodémont as Kapellmeister, since he was still considered too young for this position, the office was handed over to Pierre Probus (around 1600-1664).
