Back in the early 2000’s, Jason moved to San Diego with the band Difficult Henry. He went to Cane’s in Mission Beach to watch Downspell for the first time. He was instantly impressed with the audible onslaught they laid down, especially the dual vocal attack of Wayne Price and Tyson Montrucchio. He left thinkingw, "that's what we (Difficult Henry) gotta be like, that's what we gotta do. Destroy the stage…but better." They shared the stage several times after that and he became very good friends with Tyson.
