Formed in 1989, after playing under different names, la Blues Band de Granada made its first important live performance when they opened for Johnny Winter in May of 1990. Soon after, they recorded El Mejor Blues De la Ciudad, released by Cambayá Records. After guitarists José Luis Pizarro, Carlos Martin, and pianist David Lenker joined in, Negro En Tierra de Blancas was recorded and released in 1991 by Big Band Records. In 1994, Estanis Peinado replaced Lenker on piano.
