I grew up in family of musical women, my Mother, Grandmother and Grandaunt were all piano players so the Sweeney house always resounded to the sound of music. In spite, of this I did not play until the age of 20 when I discovered Bob Dylan who made me reach for the guitar and turned me on to the beauty, power and simplicity of American folk music. For the last 25 years the sound track of my life has been provided by people like Woody Guthrie, Leadbelly, John Hurt, Gary Davis and Doc Watson.
