Owner of the GoldSpot Records label and the Goldspot and Gold Spot Music publishing companies. Kenneth Patten Smith was born in Maysville, Kentucky, in 1938. His mother died before he had reached one year of age and he, along with his sister and father, moved up river to the Queen City not too long after, settling in the Walnut Hills neighborhood.
