Ken McDonald is a Toronto based jazz bassist and composer. Born in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, he started playing guitar at the age of 10 and cut his teeth in several rock and heavy metal groups throughout his teenage years. In the fall of 2003 he relocated to Toronto to pursue a degree in jazz performance at York University on guitar but it wasn't long until the upright bass became his new passion. "It's the instrument that I am most expressive with," says McDonald.
