About Kanagawa University Symphonic Band
The Kanagawa University Symphonic Band was originally formed in 1938. After a lapse in activity due to World War 2, they reorganized in 1954, and participated in All-Japan Band Competition, winning third prize. Their recent achievements include winning consecutive gold medals during the periods from 1984 to 1988 and 1990 to 1994. The Syphonic Band at Kanagawa University is an extra-curricular activity which is an integral part of the overall university experience.
