Justin Prabhakaran was introduced to church music at an early age and groomed to become a keyboard player.He participated in a TV reality show and won the best singer award. He is proficient in playing both keyboard and guitar. It was during a film shoot at the American college campus in 2006, where he studied B.Sc. Zoology, he happened to meet cinematographer Gopinath, who advised him to study sound engineering.After completing a course in sound engineering he joined music composer Harris Jayaraj and worked for him till the movie Thuppakki.
