About JUGALBANDITS
JUGALBANDITS is a collaboration between Mishal Mazin and Imaad Majeed, from Colombo, Sri Lanka. Inspired by the improvisatory spirit of Sufi qawwali, their debut EP "FOUR MEDITATIONS" draws on loops of tabla and tanpura from a Radel, Casiotone MT-70 keyboard raga and maqam explorations, and spontaneous recitations, ghazal and verse. Across four tracks, love, delusions, nonduality, and gratitude to the divine are invoked in a contemplative form. Rather than ecstasy, these meditations lean toward intimacy, reflection, and becoming whole.
