
Juan de Padilla (Gibraltar, c. December 1, 1605 - Toledo, December 16, 1673) was a Spanish composer and maestro de cappella. Juan de Padilla was born in Gibraltar and was baptized on December 1, 1605. He studied at the seminary of Cádiz, where he was ordered and had to have had his musical training, since he is not known for other studies. Subsequently, he would occupy the position of chapel master in the following institutions: Coria Cathedral from 1624 to 1629;
