About Josiah Israel
Josiah Israel was born in Illinois in 1980. He first fell in love with music at age 9 and started playing violin at age 10. When he started high school in 1994, he quit playing violin and starting playing guitar and writing songs. His first favorite band was Nirvana, followed by the Pixies and then The Beach Boys. All three bands have been influential in his songwriting. Today, he is most inspired/influenced by The Magnetic Fields. Josiah Israel currently lives in Portland, Oregon and periodically performs at open-mic nights there.
