She wrote these songs, then through friend Steve McCarthy (who did the engineering at his home studio), hooked up with Lyn Bertles (strings), Bob Mair (bass), Nick Vincent (drums), and longtime friend, artist Dion Macellari (guitar). The project was realized. She had decided on the name Josephine the Singer years before, after reading the Franz Kafka story of the same name "Josephine the Singer, or the Mouse Folk".
