About John Velghe
Thanks to Les Paul, John Velghe (pronounced Vel-gee) is a failed piano player. Born in the midwestern United States, he became a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist (playing; guitar, drums, piano, accordion, vibraphones, rhodes, etc.) mostly out of neccessity -- finding musicians who can hear what's inside ones head is a tough lot. When people ask Velghe who he studied under, he often responds “the American Masters.” They typically ask “Gershwin? Porter?” Velghe responds, “No.
