About John Sund Special Venture
John's a pretty brilliant player, and this album is an attractive mix of heavily rhythmic jazz/rock backing with lots of soaring guitarwork that is a bit comparable to Terje Rypdal, but with more of a jazz guitar sound added. Fusion fans looking for something more than empty pyrotechnics will definitely be thrilled by this one. Recorded live with excellent sound in front of a small audience at a radio station, this is quite excellent and recommended!
