Johannes Celscher (c. 1565 -after 1608) began his compositional career in 1596, and by 1600 was a cantor in Kwidzyn. By 1604 he was the city composer in Toruń. The last known date of his life was 1608, when he may have returned to Kwidzyn. Although a number of songs and motets were printed in the 1600s, all are lost, save for a few fragments. A manuscript of Missa Domine quid multiplicati sunt has survived.
