Johannes Bugenhagen, nicknamed Doctor Pomeranus (born June 24, 1485 in Wolin (Duchy of Pomerania); †April 20, 1558in Wittenberg), a famous German reformer, was a close associate of Martin Luther. Through his apostolate, he ensured the conversion of all the countries of the Hansa to Protestantism.
