Johann Samuel Welter (27 August 1650, in Obersontheim – 27 July 1720, in Schwäbisch Hall) was a German composer. Welter was an organist of the German mid-baroque, based in Hall (nowadays known as Schwäbisch Hall), who also composed many sacred cantatas of which a handful have survived. Unfortunately his organ and other instrumental music have been lost.
