Joel, a minor Prophet from the bible, Verdad the Spanish word for Truth. A fitting moniker for up and coming rapper; Joel Verdad, a Charlotte North Carolina native who is poised to bring hip hop back to its roots. Born Donovan Joel Long, it was the melodic flow of poetry and literary pieces, including Shakespeare, which piqued the young intellects interests and served as a catalyst into the world of hip hop. A Hopewell high school graduate and the youngest of three siblings, Verdad put his college education on hold to pursue his love for music.
