About Joanna Lyon
English through and through, but influenced by the arid, desert vistas of Arizona and Utah, Joanna Lyon echoes the rootsy, American music of south-west USA. She started playing guitar a few years ago when a foot operation meant enforced retirement from dancing. Teaching herself a few chords, she was quite happy playing in her kitchen. However, she soon started to write her own songs, taking inspiration from the bleak hills of the Derbyshire moors where she lives, concentrating on the ebb and flow of everyday relationships.
