Baroque pop duo Jim and Dale teamed Philadelphia natives Jim Carter and Dale Jerred. Little is known about their formative years, but in 1967 the twosome made their debut on Roulette with the single "Livin' on Love"; a year later, Jim and Dale resurfaced on United Artists with their lone LP, 86% of Us, a minor classic of the sunshine pop genre. Two singles were released from the album--a cover of the Paul Simon song "Richard Cory" and the excellent "Past the State of Mind"--but neither charted, and the duo was not heard from again.
