About Jesus And The Gospelfuckers
Jezus And The Gospelfuckers formed in Haarlem in 1977 after hearing the Sex Pistols, and moved to squat heaven Amsterdam the following year. They played their first gigs in squats with bands like the VD Patients, the Bugs and the mighty Ivy Green (who were the only Dutch punk band with an LP out at that point), and moved into 'Huize Chaos' themselves ('Jezus' was 15, his brother Embryo 12...). In 1981 they squatted a big house with a huge safe underneath, so they could practise whenever they wanted, and started to grow as a band.
