Jerzy Liban (born 1464 in Legnic , died after 1546 in Krakow) was a Renaissance humanist, composer, music theorist, teacher and philologist. He spoke Latin , Greek and Hebrew . He lectured at the Krakow Academy (today the Jagiellonian University) and taught at the parish school at St. Mary's Church in Krakow. Jerzy Liban devoted two publications exclusively to music.
