About Jeffrey Nyofu Lependorf
Jeffrey Nyofu Lependorf (born 1962) is a performer of the traditional Japanese bamboo flute, Shakuhachi. In 1984, Lependorf received the venerable performing name "Koku" ("Empty Nothingness") from shakuhachi master Yoshinobu Taniguchi, while studying at the Oberlin Conservatory. In 1992, Lependorf received a Jun Shihan license from shakuhachi master Ronnie Nyogetsu Seldin. Lependorf is a Doctor (PHD) of Music Composition from Columbia University, and his works have been performed across the United States, Italy, Ireland, and Japan.
