his real name was Jean Lacquemant; He was born in Pertain en Picardie in 1622 or 1623 from a father, Noël Lacquemant who was bailiff of the King. In 1655, he was certified to live in Paris suburb of Saint Germain l'Auxerois. He died after 1681, the date of his last concert. In 1996, Jonathan Dunford and Carolinne Vaast discovered a notarial transaction proving that Dubuisson was Jean Lacquemant. (French Viol Society)
