About Jay Farrar and Benjamin Gibbard
In an ode to Beat author Jack Kerouac, alt-country musician Jay Farrar has teamed with Death Cab for Cutie's Ben Gibbard for a collaborative album, "One Fast Move or I'm Gone: Kerouac's Big Sur." The 12-song set was released October 20 by F-Stop/Atlantic and serves as the soundtrack to a Kerouac documentary of the same name. Farrar and Gibbard were approached by the filmmakers in 2007 about writing music for the film, which documents the author's time spent in the Big Sur region of California.
