Jakob Friedrich Greiss (also found under the variant surname Kreuss) was an 18th-century German organist and composer associated with the musical life of Hesse-Darmstadt. He trained with Christoph Graupner, the long-serving Kapellmeister in Darmstadt, and is documented as court organist (Hoforganist) to the Landgraves of Hesse-Darmstadt from 1751 to 1769. Greiss is best known today through a small body of organ chorale settings preserved in later transmission and modern editorial collections.
