Born on the mean streets of St. Louis, Jairus i. Maclin (a.k.a. J Recipe) struggled with poverty, a fatherless home and a life of chaos......At 12 he started selling drugs and by the age of 16 run ins with the law was common....When in jail (juvenile), one thing that kept him on track was writing music. Not realizing his talent , when he would get out he would fly right back to the hood...(Hustler)....It wasn"t until he was 19, when he met this rap group and they took him to the studio and let him watch them record.
