
J. Phoenix was born and raised in Brooklyn NY and is a graduate of Brooklyn College. His vocal influences include Luther Vandross, Peabo Bryson, Chaka Khan and Dianne Reeves. His songwriting influences include James Taylor, Bill Withers, John Lennon and Lionel Richie. J. Phoenix has performed in New York City clubs, at the Sundance Film Festival and most recently in Europe, Africa, South America and the Middle East. J. Phoenix's debut album MASTERPIECE was released in 2007.
