The band IRISH ROSE appeared on scene of "slovak irish" music in summer 2003. It was started by two irish music fans who were members of (now nonexistent band) Highland Corbies. It was Peťo Marcinko, tin whistle and bagpipe player and fiddler Katka Ivasenková. Almost from beginning played with them flutist Zuzka Orosová, too. During that year joined the band bodhrán player Peťo Holodňák, guitar player Jožko Szánto and singer Evka Trembeczká.
