About Ilana Eliya
Ilana Eliya perform an unusual repertoire of Kurdish songs, both old and contemporary. The singer, Ilana Eliya was born in Jerusalem to parents who immigrated to from Kurdistan. Already as a child, her voice attracted attention, but it was only after her father's death that she dared sing in public. Her first record, "Jabalio", came out in 1993 and immediately captured the hearts of both Kurdish music lovers and the general public in Israel. Her second record came out three years later, starting her collaboration with the Jabalio Ensemble.
