If Bears Were Bees is Timothy Justin Grant and whatever friends have stuck around. The Bears' musical styles usually center around poppy indie rock or indie country/folk. Timothy sings about his lovers, time, death, and science, with a lot of annunciation and a lot of self deprecation. If Bears Were Bees was formed in the winter of 2003 when singer and songwriter of the Seattle ska/indie rock band The Dramatics! got together with his friend Gallagher Scott and wrote a few sad songs on the acoustic guitar and piano.
