I Took Your Name is the name of a song by R.E.M. It is also the solo moniker of Dutch guitarist and singer/songwriter, Chris van der Ploeg. Currently based in Beetsterzwaag, The Netherlands, Van der Ploeg recorded three full-length albums as a member of Groningen-based indie band, Audiotransparent. The original plan was to make an ambient guitar record about rail yards. All that Audiotransparent and Kendler guitar player, Chris van der Ploeg, came up with was songs.
