As a Johnny's Jr., Kusano had also been in other Jr. subgroups such as Supporting, J-support and KKKity, before he was selected as 1 of the 8 to debut as NEWS. Kusano has been voted in several Japanese fan polls as 'The Jr. you would want most as a brother'.He will also be preforming with "Playzone" with Uchi.
