About Hateful Dead
The Hateful Dead originally formed in Centralia, IL in the late 1990's. When guitarist Jared Milegar and bassist Josh Beckman relocated to Carbondale IL to attend SIU-C, the rest of the band (drummer Tim Beaty) moved with them, and it was there in Carbondale and the surrounding areas that they built a small but dedicated following. Releases include Temptress and Like Sheep to the Slaughter. Their sound could be described as stoner rock fused with grunge, with influences ranging from the Melvins and Nirvana to Fu Manchu.
