When Hapbt was about 6 or 7 years old he had a Fisher Price record player, and would take records from his parents into his room and listen to them on his headphones for hours by himself, sometimes while playing with his toys. One day he discovered a series of records by Sandy Nelson, a famous drummer who would do instrumental covers of famous songs, but with a percussion-intensive twist. Instantly, he fell in love with this percussion-heavy style and especially the breakdowns.
