About Grupo Oz
This jazz-rock and latin funk band was formed in Mexico City in 1971 by a group of unknown studio musicians experimenting with fusion of musical styles. The same year, Grupo Oz recorded its first album for RAFF Records that was simultaneously released in Mexico and Spain. All compositions and arrangements were by members of the band. Their distinctive sound, with a Santana's Latin soul flavor, and their unique approach to play rock and funk (think Chicago and Chase) should have made this band an instant success; instead
