
Gregorio Hernandez Rios was born in Havana in 1936, or otherwise known as 'Goyo' leads Grupo Oba Ilu. The group is made up of percussionists from Havana, Cuba and the surrounding area. They include Roman Justo Pelladito, Yoendris Hernandez Boch, Dario Rivera Velazquez. Music from the album Drums of Cuba explores the drum rhythms from the Afro-Cuban religions that came to Cuba from Africa.
