
Group Navo is an ensemble from Uzbekistan that plays Uzbek music on traditional instruments. Playing the karnay and surnay (reed instrument) is the national music art of Uzbek people. It is passed on from father to son, from generation to generation, from teacher to pupil. It is played at weddings, national holidays and similar events. Group Navo was formed in 2003 at the House of Culture in Chilanzar by karnay and surnay player Abdumannop Teshaboyev. His teacher was Ubaydullo Vahobov.
