Gottfried Kirchhoff (Composer) Born: September 15, 1685 - Mühlbeck, near Bitterfeld (about 30 km north-east of Halle), Saxony-Anhalt, Germany Died: January 21, 1746 - Halle, Germany The German composer, Gottfried Kirchhoff, was, like Georg Frideric Handel, a pupil of Friedrich Wilhelm Zachow (1663-1712). He was Kapellmeister of the Duke of Holstein-Glücksburg in 1709; organist of the Benedictine Church in Quedlinburg in 1711; and succeeded F.W.
