Gottfried Ernst Pestel (also known as Gottfried Ernst Bestel; 1654–1732) was a German organist and composer associated with central Germany, with authority records placing his birth in Berga/Elster and his death in Altenburg. His music survives above all through manuscript transmission in early-18th-century keyboard anthologies: the Andreas-Bach-Buch tradition preserves a D-major “Partie” (a suite) attributed to him, and IMSLP also transmits a chorale setting titled Allein zu dir, Herr Jesu Christ.
