About Giuseppe Sellitto
Giuseppe Sellitto or Sellitti (Naples, March 22 1700 - Naples, August 23 1777 ) was an Italian composer and organist. An opera composer, he was active for most of his life in his hometown, with the exception of a few brief periods of stay in Bologna (1732), in Venice (1733), in Rome (1742 and 1746) and Florence (1765). In 1760 he was appointed organist at the Church of San Giacomo degli Spagnuoli, a post he held until his death. He was also a singing instructor.
