Padre Giuseppe Paolucci (1727-1777) – theoretician and composer, was one of the most admired pupils of Padre Giovanni Battista Martini. In 1756 he was appointed maestro di cappella at the basilica of the Frari in Venice. In 1761 he moved on to the church of San Francesco in Perugia, and ten years later, after a brief period in Senigallia at the church of San Martino dei Serviti, he was named maestro di cappella at the basilica of San Francesco in Assisi, where he remained until his death on 26 April 1777.
