About Girolamo Chiti
Girolamo Chiti ( Siena , January 19, 1679 - Rome , September 4, 1759 ) was an Italian composer . While still a teenager he began his musical studies in Siena under the guidance of Giuseppe Ottavio Cini and the nephew of this Tommaso Redi. From 1708 he was choirmaster of the Tolomei College . In 1712 he went to Rome where he studied with Giuseppe Ottavio Pitoni and Antonio Caldara . In 1717 he became choirmaster of the Pious house of the Orphans of Santa Maria in Aquiro in Rome.
