Giovanni Antonio Terzi (1580 - 1620). The lutenist, singer and composer lived in Bergamo. He is known for his two books of lute tablature printed in Venice in 1593 and 1599, containing some of the most technically demanding pieces for the lute. It is clear that Terzi loved instrumental music but wrote a number of accompaniments for voice with two lutes. The compositions with two lute parts can be played as duets and the single lute parts could also be played as solos though indications given are for ensemble work.
