Gil Bateman recorded with Panorama and Picadilly and Jerden in Seattle in the 1960s. He also produced The Bards and the New Yorkers (later the Hudson Brothers) for Seattle's Jerden Records before joining Elektra Records in New York on the business side and promoting artists like The Doors, Judy Collins, Bread and Carly Simon -- helping to build Elektra from an independent into a major label. Bateman later promoted for Leon Russell's Shelter Records and was Windham Hill’s General Manager of West Coast Operations in the 1980s.
