About Gentle Art
Gentle Art formed in 1968 at school. By 1970, the band was in the final of both Hoadley's National Battle of The Sounds, and the 4IP Rock Awards. The band played material from Jethro Tull to Sly & The Family Stone to Joe Cocker, and their own blend of blues and soul, using all those influences to be writing and performing essentially original material from 1972 through to 1977. Along the way, the band had a number of line-up changes, but core members Dick Grantley, Stu Hoffman and Steve Tyson were the constants.
