Gene Carroll And The Shades was a rockabilly band from Sisseton, South Dakota and it was formed in the year 1959 by Gene Carroll (vocals, piano), Gaylen Johnson (bass) and Bob Syverson (guitar). Rhythm guitarist Odean Anderson and drummer Larry Wattier joined to complete the band. The band released their first single Do You Remember Last September in 1959. In 1964, they released their second single Holly / Is It Ever Gonna Happen. Gene Carroll And The Shades disbanded at some point in the 1960's.
